New Vlog Series “The Workz” Episode 1

Hey everyone, Brandon Damon here, the co-producer of “The WORKZ.” I’m excited to share with you the first episode in the new series, shot entirely at the Hogworkz Headquarters. This was the first time filming with the Hogworkz crew, as they invited me in to share their paint process.

Filming a painting project at Hogworkz presented its own set of challenges, especially when working under a tight deadline. We had to ensure that we captured every step of the process while still adhering to our schedule. Painting is a meticulous task, and any delays could affect the outcome of the project. Additionally, filming real people in a reality show setting adds another layer of complexity. We wanted to authentically capture the passion and dedication of the HOGWORKZ Paint Team, lead by Raphael and Jaz- without intruding on their workflow.

The energy and enthusiasm of the Hogworkz team were palpable as they prepared to showcase their latest bike project for the Tokyo Motorcycle Show. Zypher blue was the chosen color. Despite the pressure of the impending deadline, everyone remained focused and committed to delivering top-notch results.

One of the key highlights of filming this episode was witnessing the meticulous attention to detail during the painting process. From priming the bike parts to mixing the perfect shade of color, every step was executed with precision and care. It was fascinating to see how temperature control played a crucial role in achieving the desired finish, and the team’s expertise shone through as they navigated through potential challenges.

Of course, filming real people at work comes with its own set of surprises. There were moments of laughter and camaraderie as the team worked together to overcome any obstacles that arose. Whether it was joking around during a short break or discussing music preferences while painting, we were able to capture the genuine interactions that will make “The WORKZ” vlog truly special. My approach to filming these episodes will have more of a grassroots vlogger feel, employing some first person story-telling when possible. But still try to elevate the look through Sony optics.

As day one drew to a close, we wrapped up filming with a sense of accomplishment and excitement. Raphael sprayed a perfect clear coat, and I used a modified GoPro rig to capture the view from the sprayer. We had successfully captured the essence of creativity and craftsmanship at Hogworkz Headquarters, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team’s efforts. I was super excited to get home and start editing what I had just captured- almost before the paint dried!

I hope you’ll join us for the next episode of “The WORKZ” as we continue to explore the fascinating world of custom motorcycle painting and parts.

Until then, ride on!
