When you work in film long enough, certain projects just feel historic while you’re shooting them. This was one of those.

I had the opportunity to produce and edit a major announcement for Rollganic Gardens—introducing their new public partnership with none other than BC Bubbleman himself, Marcus, alongside Michigan’s own renowned hash processor Papa Sift.

This wasn’t just another cannabis video. This was the merging of legacy hash knowledge with Michigan’s rapidly evolving metric market.

Bringing BC Bubbleman to Michigan

For those who understand hash culture, BC Bubbleman isn’t just a name — he’s a pioneer. Known globally for preserving and teaching traditional ice water hash techniques, Marcus has built a reputation around education, quality, and innovation.

In this project, Marcus shares how he first connected with Papa Sift and how Rollganic Gardens completed the puzzle — forming a three-part collaboration to bring:

  • BC Bubbleman’s trusted products

  • Proven hash separation techniques

  • High-end processing technology

  • And top-tier solventless standards

…directly into the Michigan cannabis market.

This public partnership signals something bigger than just product distribution — it’s about raising the bar for hash production in the state. So we brought BC Bubbleman Products to Michigan Metric Market, but for the video, Marcus stayed in BC and filmed his own interview.

Filming Across Borders

One of the coolest aspects of this project was how it came together visually.

Marcus filmed his portion of the interview himself — on his iconic balcony in British Columbia, Canada. If you know, you know. That balcony has been the backdrop to countless hash education sessions over the years.

Meanwhile, we filmed:

  • Rollganic Gardens at their Michigan operation

  • The lab sessions in Monroe

  • Papa Sift in action, working through hash production techniques

  • Equipment demonstrations and separation processes

Seeing Papa Sift operate was something else. He’s truly the hands of the Michigan side of this operation — executing the techniques, dialing in the washes, refining the process. Marcus gave him major props in the interview, recognizing his dedication and skill.

From a filmmaker’s perspective, capturing hash-making sessions is fascinating. The textures, the cold room environment, the meticulous separation process — it’s both scientific and artistic.

The Editing & Visual Effects

We didn’t stop at documentary-style storytelling.

To elevate the production, we shot product segments on a clean white background and created subtle After Effects animations — spinning products, highlighting branding, and adding motion elements to give the announcement a premium, polished feel.

Because cannabis marketing has limitations across major platforms, you have to get creative. You can’t always rely on traditional advertising tools. That makes storytelling and strong visuals even more important.

When platforms restrict certain content, film becomes one of the most powerful ways to communicate legitimacy and professionalism.

Why This Partnership Matters

Michigan has one of the most competitive cannabis markets in the country. Bringing BC Bubbleman’s techniques and products into this ecosystem is significant.

It means:

  • Elevated solventless standards

  • Trusted international credibility

  • Refined hash production methods

  • Education-driven processing

And with Rollganic Gardens at the center, the foundation is strong.

As someone who’s spent years filming in this industry — from farm seasons to lab sessions — I’ve watched Michigan cannabis mature rapidly. Projects like this show how far things have come.

Telling Stories in a Restricted Industry

One thing people don’t always realize: marketing cannabis publicly comes with real obstacles. Certain platforms limit reach or restrict paid promotion entirely. That means storytelling must carry more weight.

This project wasn’t just about announcing a partnership. It was about documenting a moment in cannabis history — the kind that shifts a market.

I was lucky to be the one chosen to help tell that story.

And Michigan?

Keep your eyes open.

BC Bubbleman products are coming to a store near you soon.
